I have always indulged my nostalgia. I live my life tethered to the past and yearning for it: I think that’s why I’ve always been drawn to clothes.

 

Fashion is all about sentimentality. It’s about fishing out that cardigan from the back of your bottom drawer and being reminded of the emotional warmth of that dinner the last time you wore it two winters ago.

 

Designing and making clothes allows me to indulge in my love for attachment without any of the risks. Garments are time capsules. They carry memories and feelings with them. I’m proud of my designs when they evoke a wisp of childhood whimsy that gives them a charm worthy of remembrance, a charm that brings me back to a specific day, moment, season.
